When it comes to wearing denim, I like to think that anything goes. (Jeans diapers? Sure, why not!) While there are no hard and fast rules, I think most of us can agree that there are a few… let’s call them, guidelines, which even the littlest blue jean enthusiasts should adhere to. For example: Don’t rock the Canadian tuxedo (jeans + a jean jacket) Do steer clear of acid wash or anything with pleats Don’t let your jeans ride higher than Steve Urkel’s or lower than Britney’s Do accessorize but don’t over-accessorize.  Remember the old adage: “Before leaving the house, a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory.”   But ultimately, I believe the biggest denim DO is simple: Be Comfortable! Wear & pair whatever feels right. To illustrate, this morning was gloomy and Hazel was tuckered out from her weekend with the grandparents.  I had laid out a flouncy dress for her to wear, but she was so not feeling it (I know this by the wails she let out as I tried to slip the dress over her head).  Instead of getting all fancy-fancy, my girl spent the better part of the morning lounging in her swing in nothing other than Huggies Jeans diapers and her favorite pink rain boots.  And if you can’t tell by those eyes, she was loving everything about this look! Jeans diapers and rain boots… an unlikely pair, yes, but I am pretty certain that being comfortable is always in style!

Best Cities For Families: I’d be perfectly happy splashing around in my kiddie pool all summer, but I don’t want to be the only one in the sandbox without fun vacation stories come fall. I schooled the boys in clashing with style and the whole “less is more” thing. They seem to get it, although they still insist on pairing every look with a foam sword or a face full of stickers. However, I think they’re ready to try out a runway look. Boone selected this button down shirt with a thin hoodie, a versatile ensemble featuring a Huggies Jeans diaper that could easily be dressed up with accents such as a tie or dressed down with a pair of combat boots. Of course, the foam sword does limit its versatility, but we’re taking this one step at a time. I’m uploading this photo to the virtual gallery at Huggies.com. For every photo uploaded, Huggies donates diapers on behalf of the Every Little Bottom program, which seeks to provide diapers to babies in need. It’s all part of Huggies’ “Dress ‘Em Cute for a Cause” campaign.

Wacky Baby Keepsakes: Parents tend to hang on to the weirdest things as mementos of my time as a baby. First lock of hair? Normal. First burp cloth? C’mon now, that’s just a little weird. (via The Stir)    - Baby J. Nuborn, Current Events

Packing a diaper bag takes some skill, as I used to be a chronic over-packer. I never could find anything I needed and it drove me crazy. I’ve finally gotten it down to science, I think. However, now that it’s finally summertime I’ve had to re-work my bag a little bit! Here are my summertime essentials: ·      Huggies Jean diapers: I love these because they really are a two-in-one for me- they are a diaper and look like cute little jeans so they are already half an outfit! He’s always ready for the Huggies virtual runway! I also pack my wipes in the Huggies wipes case- SO cute! ·      A hat is a necessity for hot summer days; gotta protect that sensitive baby skin! I always put on his  sunscreen before we go out, but I pack a hat just in case. His sunglasses  spend more time in the bag then on his face, but he is young still. He will understand how important it is to accessorize soon enough! ·      Toys: Milo is at that age where he likes his options and has a short attention span. Not pictured are my keys, which usually are his “toy” of choice. ·      Lunch: A bib, spoon and jar of baby food are perfect for a quick meal. I like to pack snacks we can share like bananas and animal crackers. The sippy cup is a new addition to our diaper bag. Milo loves ice cold water! ·      Technology: My phone, an MP3 player (we are listening to a lot of Jackson 5 these days!), and a camera, of course. ·      Clothes: He spends most of his days barefoot but I always pack socks just in case. Nothing worse than cold feet! I also like to pack a long sleeve swim shirt that is SPF 30! ·      Mom’s Stuff: I might be a Mom, but I still like to look runway-ready myself! My makeup bag, wallet and hand sanitizer go everywhere with me. ·         Plastic bags: because you never know when you will need one!  What’s in your bag?
